Broken tabs are not generally covered by the warranty.\u003cbr\u003e• Small expansion gaps need to be left.\u003cbr\u003e• Don't kick\/push all the slabs up tightly together (full explanation and photos below).\u003cbr\u003e• Staggered slabs (like bricks) are more stable than grid style.\u003cbr\u003e• Think ahead...if you might want to add rows at a later date, ensure that the leading\u003cbr\u003eedge is straight and not staggered (see full explanation and photos below).\u003cbr\u003e• Paths of two slabs wide MUST be staggered for stability.\u003cbr\u003e• A generous topping layer is essential for animal traffic, and is a requirement for\u003cbr\u003eproper installation.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e \u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003ePREPARATION\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIt's a good idea to do a bit of planning and preparation before your slabs arrive.\u003cbr\u003eLaying and interlinking the slabs is very simple, but there are a few hard and fast rules\u003cbr\u003egoverned by physics which are important to know, as having to lift and re-lay slabs\u003cbr\u003ebecause you made a mistake is a lot of additional effort.\u003cbr\u003eFirst, make sure the ground is as even as possible, by flattening out any high points and\u003cbr\u003eremoving any big stones. The more levelled out you can get the area, the better the\u003cbr\u003efinal result will be. Chain harrowing or raking the ground is ideal if it's dry and lumpy or\u003cbr\u003erutted, and any dips or holes should be filled with soil, coarse sand, pea gravel, wood \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003echip, muck heap contents, etc. to get it even. The slabs are small enough to cope with\u003cbr\u003eundulations, but not with lumps and ruts which would cause them to rock back and\u003cbr\u003eforth, preventing them from interconnecting and bedding in level.
